CHRISTIAN, NIGERIA NEED DIVINE INTERVENTION

Thank you the readers and the lovers of PTL News Magazine. May the Lord be with you in Jesus name. Glory be to Almighty God for His mercy upon this nation, if not because God is on our side things could have been worst than this. Christians of this nation, where are we going? Let us look into the matter of this country Nigeria Spiritually. Why our matter is like when Israelite went back to Egypt, when they suppose to move further to Canaan Land. I told us in the last edition that Nigeria was blessed with many resources, but majority of Nigerians are living in poverty only few people of this nation are enjoying the wealth of this nation, when our leaders are heartless like king Pharaoh who failed to allow Israelites to go and worship their God, until he destroyed himself and his people before they had freedom to go. No wonder instead of moving forward every thing is getting worst every day, and our rulers are deceiving us all the time.
I want to ask this question, where are we coming from? Where are we now and where are we going? I will tell you the fact, no leaders or politicians that can answer these questions. The only solution to the situation of this country is divine Intervention. The Bible says; My people perished because they lack knowledge. As a matter of fact let Nigerians go back to the Lord, not going to Church alone because going to church alone would not solve this problem and this is one of the reasons why this problem is getting worst every day because when someone wants to speak, he or she will say I am a Christian and he/she does not know whom Christ is and the reason why He came to this world not to talk of reasons why He died on the Cross of Calvary. Let us stop going to church without knowing Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. No other Saviour except Jesus Christ.
Worship Him whole heartedly, let every body go back to the Lord. Forget about your position as a politician your rank as force men / women, or your level in Government work as a Government official, also self employed people, drivers and also we Men of God. What we have and where we are today, see it as an opportunity given to us by God Almighty. Remember that, all glory belong to God. Why are you claiming the glory of God and you forget that another person we take over the position tomorrow. Then, what would be your end.
We Christian leaders let us go back to the purpose and the reason why God called us into His work, Consider what church of God has become today. There is no difference between sex hawkers and church workers today. And every time we make joyful noise unto the Lord in Sin and unclean heart. Do you think you can bribe God with your money? And we fail to let them no the truth because of what we would receive from them. My people, this is not how our Lord Jesus Christ did it during His own time, let us change. I want us to remember, this is the privilege we have, but now we have changed it to our Ministry, private or personal business. Sir / Ma, if Christ thought the way we think today, Christ would not die for the sin of the whole world. If a sinless man could come to die on our behalf, why is difficult to serve Him today as He is expecting from us? Let us change before it is too late. We now turn ourselves to miracle workers. We do not see Him as our miracle and our creator; if we want to resemble Christ then we need to change before it is too late.
Until every body that holds one position or the other has it in mind that we can not do it alone without God Almighty. We, we have it in mind that our success is in Jesus Christ, that is when we would have it in mind that Nigeria needs Divine Intervention. In a time like this, Nigeria needs divine intervention; let us allow God to intervene on matters of our life and Nigeria entirely, so that Nigerians would have rest of mind, peace, and progress in all areas of our life.
If we want God to intervene, we will need to confess our sins unto the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3: 23, also he who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother. 1 John 3: 8 – 10 and we would ask for forgiveness, mercy of God, then we would allow God’s will to prevail over our thought every day and we would submit ourselves to Him and allow Him to rule every thing we do.
We need divine intervention because truth is going astray in the midst of so call children of God that is why we can’t expect to here truth from our politicians. If they said some thing you will see that at the end of the day is a lie that is why they can’t fulfill the promises they made before they came into the office. Christians, when we are ready to say the truth, follow the truth and stand for the truth that is when divine intervention will take place. John 14: 6 Jesus is the way the truth and the life find place for Him in your heart today. Then the people of this nation will enjoy the goodness of God in their Lives.

Start from previous edition. With what we have been discussing since the beginning of this topic, “Are you a Christian?” Christians of today need to sit down and search our life and think deeply and ask ourselves” Are we Christians?
Examine the way you live your life and the way you do things in Christendom as a Christian, you know that you don’t have any qualifications that can proof you as a Christian. As I said earlier, going to church, paying tithe and present in every church activity do not proof you as a Christian. They are just works and you will be rewarded for them if you live according to the Bible and the will of God for your life.
Bible is the standard of God for every believer. It is better for all of us to go back into true word of God and allow your Bible to have impact on your life. Stop putting your pastor in the position of God in your life. Many of today Christians fear and believe their pastor than to listen to the voice of God, then through Holy Spirit, if you fear only your pastor and you neglect your creator then you need to answer this question, where are we going? Think about it, before it is too late for you and me.
You call yourself a Christian but you are behaving like chameleon (Alagemo) your dressing to party and in the town is different from the one you will wear to the house of God (church), you will dress as an angel when you are coming to church but you are not difference to the worldly people when you are outside. Why are you doing this? Think about it. When the Bible says your dressing must be moderate, then why are you dressing like mummy water or half naked to the house of God. But I know something you have a mission into such Assembly is either you want to poising the children of God or pastor himself is your target. Please, such thing is not good you better go and repent like Rev. Mrs. Funmilayo who worked and lived with Satan for 990 years. God loves you.
Children of God why message of prosperity is so much today on our pulpit, on the TV, please this is not the best message for this generation in a time like this when the world itself is decaying. Let us go back into true word of God from our Bible and show people the way of the kingdom of God, a kind of life they can live to please God, things they can do to inherit the eternity, let us tell the whole world and our politicians the danger of a sinful life. Let us tell people to stop playing with Sins. We need to let them know that Hell fire is real also Heaven is real.
Every good citizen of Nigeria Christians in particular let us goes back to the foundation of our Christianity if we want peace and progress in this nation. After 49 years of Independent, let us pray this prayer for our nation as directed by the Holy Spirit, if we thoroughly want changes in Nigeria. God of peace let your peace reign in Nigeria. God, visit Nigeria with mighty hand. Lastly God uproot and chain every power and spirit that stands against the progress of this nation. Thank you as you pray the prayer points.
To every Christian, let us go back to the Lord and resemble our Lord Jesus Christ in all our ways, because our future is brighter than what we are seeing today.

Are You A Christian PART 2?
I read recently that 50 percent of all born-again Christians don’t have the assurance of salvation. Maybe some just need to memorize some pertinent passages on the assurance of salvation, like 1 John 5:13, and realize that God's Word does indeed promise that salvation is the present possession of every true follower of Christ. On the other hand, perhaps a lot of so-called Christians do not have the assurance of salvation because they are not really saved. Just because you attend church or engage in certain religious activities does not necessarily mean you are a Christian. The Apostle Paul instructed those in the early church to examine themselves to see if their faith was genuine 2 Cor. 13:5. So, how do I know if am a Christian? How do you know if I'm one? There must be evidence. Jesus said, "By their fruits you shall know them" (Matthew 7:20). If someone examine your life, would he find any spiritual fruit—hard evidence to prove that you are a true follower of Jesus Christ? Many people say they are Christians, but does this profession measure up against what the Bible says a Christian
is?
If you say you are a Christian, what is the basis for saying this? Your answer might be something like one of the following statements: “I live in a Christian country”; “I have always been a Christian”; “my parents were Christians”; “I have always been to church”; “I don't do anything to hurt other people”; “I am a moral and upright citizen”; “I do a lot of work for Charities”. These, however, are not the answers that the Bible gives to this question.
The Bible deals with our status in God's eyes, the one who made us and keeps us being. It deals with the matters of our heart, our inmost self. Where we were born and the things we have done, even the best things, are not what make us accepted in God's estimation – and that is what really counts in the end! Isaiah 53: 6
We are told by Jesus Christ Himself that there is only one way to God, only one way to be accepted by Him. Jesus tells us that He is the way, He alone. 1 Cor. 2: 14. How is it that Jesus Christ is the only way to God? The Scripture teaches us that all human beings are born with a terrible problem, one they can't resolve themselves. This problem is their own internal enmity against God's rightful and absolute rule over their lives. It's not just an internal problem. It makes us think and do what we want, not what God wants. The Bible uses the word “sin” for this. It means to “miss the mark”. This is what we inherited from the first man, Adam, who started the rebellion. This is my problem; this is your problem too. Romans 5: 12
Not only do we have this terrible problem internally towards God, but also we have another one as a consequence. This is God's just condemnation of our sin and rightful anger against us. We have all “missed the mark” and the result is that God has pronounced the “guilty” verdict against us for our sin; yours and mine. The sentence against this guilt is death, both physically and spiritually, ultimately resulting in an eternal separation from God's goodness and an eternal and awful punishment that the Bible calls Hell. A fearful yet just punishment for our willful rebellion. Romans 3: 12 – 18. So how is it that Jesus Christ is the only way to God in the face of this terrible situation? Jesus Christ is God's answer to our problem. Jesus Christ is the Son of God who entered this world of ours as a man, a real human being, even being born a baby. He was fully God and fully human, something very hard to understand, yet crucial to dealing with our problem of sin. Because he was God's Son, He didn't start off with an enmity against God, He loved God from the very start and with all His being, He wanted God's rule over Him. He lived out his life as a true human being without ever sinning against God His Father; not once. So He didn't deserve to die, he didn't deserve punishment; but that is exactly what he endured. But why? Romans 8: 6 & 7. As we said before, Jesus Christ is God's answer to our problem. Through the incredible and completely undeserved love of God He accepts the death Jesus Christ died, undeserved as it was, as the punishment for the sin of all those who trust in Him as their representative, their substitute, their advocate, their Saviour. More than that, God accepts the righteous life of Jesus Christ as His people. The Bible puts it this way, "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God". John 3: 18 & 36.
God calls us, God commands us to turn away from our rebellion, our sins, and our desire to go our own way and turn to Him trusting what He has done through Jesus Christ to deal with our biggest problem. Matthew 10: 28. So, a Christian isn't someone who has done something to deserve God's favour, but someone who sees never deserve it and gratefully accepts and trusts in what God has done in His Son. That's faith. So, we can ask the question again, are you a Christian? Is your answer that same as before, does it have the right basis; the basis the Bible gives us? In Acts 26, the Bible outlines three steps you must take to be sure you are a Christian. This is important to understand, because you may be living under false hope, and ultimately, have a false assurance of salvation. When Paul spoke to King Agrippa and described how God had called him to preach the gospel message, he essentially broke that message down and in so many words, defined it. Paul said that God told him to preach the gospel, which was comprised of a person hearing it, realizing it was given “‘to open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will
receive forgiveness of sins and be given a place among God's people, who are set apart by faith in Christ (Acts26:18).
So first, you must have your eyes opened. A spiritual blindness afflicts those who have not yet turned their lives over to Jesus Christ, because "Satan . . . has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. 2 Cor. 4:4.
Second, you must turn from darkness to light. Satan loves darkness. Hell is referred to as outer darkness. If you want to really believe, then you need to come out of the darkness and into the light (Acts 26:18). Third, you must turn from the power of Satan to God. A lot of people today want to live in two worlds. If you want to be a Christian on Sunday, but want to live the other way the rest of the week, it won't work 2 Cor. 6:14. You must turn from Satan to God. Have your spiritual eyes been opened? Have you turned from darkness to light? Have you turned from the power of Satan to God? If you've taken these steps, then God has forgiven your sins and has a place for you among God's people in heaven. This is the hope of those who truly belong to Christ. Are you a Christian is another topic, I want us to study carefully to know where we are and where we are to go on our way to the kingdom of God. Going to church does not make you a Christian; or saying a prayer, telling yourself that you are, or trying to be a decent person. You can only be a Christian if Christ is in you.
A Christian, is a person who lives in Christ, and Christ lives in him, he lives inside God, and God lives inside him, he lives in the Mystical body of Christ, in His church, as stated by Paul, and Christ in him, “It is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me” Gal. 2: 20, John 1: 5.
A Christian is “another Christ”, to live on earth the glorious adventure of love, being humble and meek like Jesus, doing the same work of Jesus, casting out devils and healing the sick, going about doing good, helping people to go to eternal Heaven, by being like Jesus “the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world”, who can teach and preach the gospel of the kingdom with his words and good deeds.
If Christ is in you, which can be tested and proven according to the scriptures. Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you – unless, of course, you fail the test? 2Cor. 13: 5. But a man must examine himself, if we judge ourselves rightly; we would not be judged
1 Cor. 11: 28, 31.
God gives us instructions on how we can and should “test ourselves” in scripture, which can be grouped into five major categories: 1. Gospel Belief and Confession 2. Born Again / Sonship 3. Repentance / Deliverance from sin 4. Good works by grace and 5. The fruit of the Spirit. The first three are starting points, but can also serve as ongoing tests, as we will see. The last two are living proof of “Christ Jesus in us”, or not.
These scriptures should encourage those who are true Christians, and give cause for sober reflection to those who think they are but are not.
Gospel Belief and Confession of Faith. Romans 10: 8 -13. “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart”, that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming; that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord”, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved... for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved”.
We must believe the right Gospel about the right one. Christian life starts with an embracing of the Gospel, but what we believe in is also an ongoing test as well. We are warned in scripture not to drift away from the faith as we go through life; which is a real danger. Do we believe in, and are we following, the simple and scripture defined Gospel of Jesus Christ? 1 John 2: 24.
In Gal. 1:19. Paul said I am amazed that you have so quickly transferred your allegiance from him who called you by the grace of Christ to another “Gospel”! Not that there is another gospel, but there are men who are upsetting your faith with a travesty of the gospel of Christ. Yet I say that if I, or an angel from Heaven, were to preach to you any other gospel than the one you have received, may he be dammed! Revelation 3: 3, Hebrew 2: 1, 10: 23.
Born Again / Sonship. John 3: 3-7. “Jesus declared”, I tell you the truth; no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised of me as I said” “you must be born again”.
Those who believe in the Gospel and follow Jesus will be born again into new, spiritual life. This is result in what is termed” the Spirit of adoption” which is evidenced by the “inner witness” of “Abba, Father”. This is an inner knowing that we are children of God, where we cry out “Daddy! Father!” with love and expectation by deep, spiritual instinct. Romans 8: 9, 15 -16. You cannot, indeed, be a Christian at all unless you have something of his spirit in you… You can say with a full heart, “father, my father”. The Spirit himself endorses our inward conviction that we really are the children of God.
Christians do not habitually remain in sin, as we will see in the following test. Yet we all can stumble, we all can fall into sin. Hopefully, this is not deliberate, but even if it is on occasion God can still use it to encourage us that we are His children. For if and when we sin, the correction / rebuke / chastisement of the Lord will train us into the righteousness of Christ – if we are His. Hebrew 12: 5 – 8.
This is a very clear out test; if you can continue in habitual sin and “get away with it”, no matter what you say you are not a child of God. On the other hand, if we really are His children, this will be proven by the fact that He will not allow us to remain in sin or go far wrong through His active correction in our lives. Revelation 3: 19.
